Can Chronos e-StockCard work with multiple computers connected together via LAN or Internet?

Yes, Chronos e-StockCard can connect through Local Area Network (LAN) or Internet.
  1. 1. Via Local Area Network (LAN)

    To connect via LAN, just click on the Server Connection button and then browse for the eStockCard Server PC database. The steps can be found from the link below: http://www.estockcard.com/newsupports/index.php?_m=knowledgebase&_a=viewarticle&kbarticleid=55&nav=0,7,9.

  2. 2. Via Internet

    (i) Internet connection through the static IP

    To connect through the internet via a static IP, just click on the Server Connection button and then enter the IP address into the server name column.
    For example if the IP address is 192.1.1.1., then just enter 192.1.1.1/ESTOCKCARD

    (ii) Internet connection through the dynamic IP

    Chronos e-StockCard can be connected via the internet by using a third party software with can be found and download by searching through the internet. This third party software helps to establish to the connection of the computers as if they are connected through a local area network. Please note that we are not in anyway associated or responsible for any third party software which are download from the internet.

Can Chronos e-StockCard integrate with other systems such as Accounting Software or ERP System?

At the moment, Chronos e-StockCard cannot be integrated with other systems directly. However, you can always using the Export / Import functions at Data Maintenance to perform the indirect batch data update. Meanwhile, we are working toward building APIs and automatic templates for user to perform direct data integration with several systems available in the market. How many Item Codes (SKUs) can Chronos e-StockCard support within the same database?

Basically Chronos e-StockCard can support up to 100,000 item codes or more but it depends on your PC/Server performance and database size.

What are the licensing models for Chronos e-StockCard?

Chronos e-Stockcard licensing fee is counted Per PC and in one-off basis. For example, if you have 2 PCs at 2 different departments to input information, you will need to purchase 2 licenses, each Client PC requires 1 license and Server (DB) is not chargeable.


What are the differences between Free Edition and Full Edition?

Basically both editions are the same software but Free Edition comes with few limitations on the features such Stock Transfer, Stock Edit, Alert System, etc are not available in the Free Edition. Please visit our Compare Product page for more details.

How do I update my Chronos e-StockCard Inventory Software if there is a latest update available?

For Version 2.x.x Standard, you can logon to our website at www.estockcard.com to get the latest updates. Software update is absolutely free for valid license software. For Version 3.0.x Business, you can update it directly from the software. After login to Chronos e-StockCard v3.0, go to "Information > Check for Updates" to check and download the updates.


Can I upgrade from Chronos e-StockCard V2.x.x Standard to Chronos e-StockCard V3.0.x Business?

Yes, users are able to migrate the data from Chronos e-StockCard V2.x.x Standard to the Chronos e-StockCard V3.0.x Business by using the migration tool which is available in Chronos e-StockCard V3.0.x Business. However, please note that the Sales Order, Delivery Order and Invoicing details from the Chronos e-StockCard V2.x.x Standard will not be able to migrate into the Chronos e-StockCard v3.0.x Business.

What are the available payment options if I want to purchase the software?

There are 2 options, you can either pay it online via PayPal or Wire Transfer the payment to us.


I have generated the Proforma Invoice from the website and made the Wired Transfer (TT) payment to purchase the Chronos e-StockCard software, what's next?

After you have done the wire transfer payment, please drop us an email at support@estockcard.com to notify us. We will guide you further on how to activate the software AFTER we have received the payment. Normally Wire Transfer payment will take 3 to 7 working days to reach us depends on your local bank operation.

Do I need to activate Chronos e-StockCard Free Edition after I have installed it?

No, you can use the Free Edition immediately WITHOUT activation. You only need to activate the software when you have purchased the software.

How do I activate the Chronos e-StockCard after purchase?

For Chronos e-StockCard V2.x.x Standard, you can refer to the following steps to request the Activation Code:-
  1. Login to Chronos e-StockCard and go to Information > Software Activate to do the activation.


  2. Click the Activate button to continue.


  3. There are two options for you to request the Activation Code but we recommend customer requests it by Email. After selecting Email, please click Next button to continue.


  4. Make sure you fill up all the compulsory fields then click Next button.


  5. When you come to this screen, you can see the system has generated the Identification Code. Please click the Email button, it will call your default mail client and the Registration and Identification Info will be automatically populated in the Message. Finally, click the Send email button to send this Request for Activation Code email to us.


  6. After we receive your email, we will generate the Activation Code and email it back to you (within 24 hours). You just copy the code given and paste it here (refer to the screenshot) and click Next button. Your Chronos e-StockCard v2.x.x Standard will be activated and you can start using it.


For Chronos e-StockCard V3.0.x Business, there are two ways for you to activate the software.

Option 1: First, you can login to our Client Center and click the “Activation” then follow the steps given to generate the Activation Code.

Option 2: Another way to activate is directly from the software itself. After login to Chronos e-StockCard v3.0, you can go to "Information > Software Activate" and follow the instructions to activate the license.

Why I failed to activate the Chronos e-StockCard v2 Standard license after entering the Activation Code?

There arew few possibilities can cause you failed to activate the software such as you activate the wrong PC or due to the PC Administration rights issue. Click here to read the details at our Knowledgebase.

I tried to activate Chronos e-StockCard v3.0.x Business directly from the software but it requested me to key in the Order Code. Where can I get the code?

The Order Code can be obtained from the Sales Receipt that we email to you after payment. Alternatively, you can login to the Client Center and go to Purchase History and open the Sales Receipt to copy the code.

Technical and Support

Currently I'm using the Chronos e-StockCard Free Edition and plan to purchase and upgrade it to Full Edition. Can I keep the data without re-enter it again?

Yes, you can maintain your existing data if you want to. After activation you can continue to perform all tasks as usual.

I have installed the Chronos e-StockCard Client and Server programs at different computers. After I modify the computer name with Client program installed, why I cannot connect to the Server program again?

Users have to bear in mind that the computers name is crucial for e-StockCard program. It uses the computer name & e-StockCard instance name (ESTOCKCARD) as information when e-StockCard program connects to MSSQL server.

Example : Warehouse PC (warehouse001) & instance name (ESTOCKCARD) will become WAREHOUSE001\ESTOCKCARD (Database Server Name)
  • If running e-StockCard for the first time, the system will prompt you which MSSQL server to connect to and if the connection is successfully established, it will auto save this database server name and connect to the same server again in the next run.

  • If the user changed the computer name, in this case "WAREHOUSE001" change to "WAREHOUSE_PC1", the system will fail to connect to previous saved database server name due to invalid name in the network. You will see the message "Could Not Connect to WAREHOUSE001\ESTOCKCARD". This could mean that your target database server is offline, name has been changed or it has been removed from the remote computer.

  • We fully advice users not to change the centralized server computer name without the system administrator permission. However if the name changes is necessary, the system administrator need to replace the computer name with the static IP address.
    Example: Warehouse PC (10.100.100.100) instead of "WAREHOUSE001\ESTOCKCARD", we suggest that you use "10.100.100.100\ESTOCKCARD" as Database Server Name. As long as the IP address remains, it will not affect the program even though the computer name has been changed.

I have downloaded Chronos e-StockCard but it failed to install due to the MS. SQL Server Native Client not being found during installation. What should I do?

It could be that your PC is running an old version of "Microsoft Native Client Installer" and during the installation of SQL SERVER 2005 Express, it failed to upgrade to latest version that we bundled inside our e-StockCard Installation. This is a known problem if using the Microsoft SQL SERVER 2005 installation.

Solution:
  1. We suggest that you run the installation one more time, sometimes it can be installed successfully during the second installation.

  2. If step 1 still cannot solve this issue, then you have to manually uninstall the program one by one (refer the image below).


  3. After finish step 2, you can reboot the PC and run Chronos e-StockCard installation again. It should solve the problem.

What kind of support am I entitled to if I purchased the software license?

For any of the software that you purchase, you can enjoy free support via email for first year and unlimited forum support from us. But for Free Edition users, they only entitled to get 1 incident email and forum support.

How do I connect Chronos e-StockCard to Database PC?

  • Open the e-StockCard program at the Client PC.

  • A message might appear to show that it is unable to connect to the database (if only the eStockCard Client is installed on that PC)


  • Once the e-StockCard login screen appears, just click on the Server Connection button.

  • If you know the e-StockCard Server PC IP address, just enter the IP at the Server name column and then click Connect. Please maintain the default Authentication, User Name and Password.
    eg: If the IP is 192.1.1.1, at the Server name column just replace CHRONOS018 with 192.1.1.1. Therefore the server name column will be: 192.1.1.1\ESTOCKCARD.


  • Or else you can manually browse for the e-StockCard Server PC by selecting "Browse for more" from the Server Name drop down list.


  • Click on the Network Server Tab.


  • Select the e-StockCard Server PC name from the list and then click OK to connect. Now the e-StockCard Client is connected to the eStockCard Server database.
